Carter's Beach in Hancock, Maine was across the point from where we lived for 35 years. It was quiet, stony, and looked out into Frenchman Bay, across from Bar Harbor. We were rarely interrupted by other visitors, and could choose from so many views to paint. I especially liked the way the boulders seemed to create a path out to open water, and the cloud presented a lively counterpoint.
