I have continued to work in the acrylic and collage mixed media started in 2022, but I have started to combine them in new ways. My prior work featured very flat colors with crisp edges. I began to want to work more texture into the pieces. The texture in the paint itself is visual texture made up of slight variations in each color. The physical texture is created through the use of papers pasted onto the surface of the pictures. Some of the collage areas are once again painted over. A few of the pieces in this collection have a small foray into soft lost edges, which I am pursuing further.
2022 was a busy year, with a one-woman show in April, and participation in my first Fine Arts Fair in August. My small home gallery was launched, and each encounter with the public educated me about communicating about my non-objective work, so different from talking about the serene landscapes I had previously shown.
